The Fitness Page: My workout is helping my fitness
Well, today I went to the gym with the mentality to kick it into high gear. I haven’t worked out hard (with free weights) in almost one year. I became lazy after my partner of four years moved and couldn’t come to the gym in the morning. Physical fitness is very important to me but in the last few years my body just started to fall apart. We used to do a lot of heavy workouts for two different type of people but it wasn’t easy. I just want to say that my workout partner was a female and I am a male. I was always trying to do the heavy weights but couldn’t always rely on a good spotter due to the strength differences. I started to become lazy in my workouts and lost strength. We only worked out using machines due to its simplicity of changing the weight by changing the pin.
Well, after the holidays, I thought someone snuck into my closet and shrunk my clothes. That’s when I knew it was time to get the extra weight off. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a weight fanatic! I weigh myself daily so I can monitor and control my weight. It hasn’t helped in the last few months due to all the holiday eating, though.
So, this morning I went to the gym to workout with only the essential, old style exercises. I started out with some clean and press and dead lifts. I’ll let you know how I feel in the next couple of days. Although, it’s 10pm and i can already feel my upper body getting sore.
Tomorrow, I will do (deep) squats using free weights. I love squats and the feeling it gives me days later. I know that sounds sick, but squat have to be one the best fitness exercises anyone can do.
